In Brief: Sonic Youth, Fuck-Off Machete and Sprites
The new
Sonic Youth LP has a name and calendar date.
CMJ reports that the Yoof's upcoming studio album
Rather Ripped will be released June 13th and contain twelve songs, "Do You Believe In Rapture?" and "Pink Stream" among them.
Fuck-Off Machete's new single,
What's the Signal?, will be released April 3rd in tangible compact disc (and limited edition 7" vinyl) form, but can already be obtained digitally
here for a paltry sum. Old pal
Fluxblog wrote about it earlier this month and, with the band's blessing, still has
"What's the Signal?" offered for your enjoyment.
Sprites have a new album in the can (
Modern Gameplay) and they've posted a teaser entitled
"George Romero" (MP3)... because, really, who's
not a fan of hungry killer zombies? Nice stuff. Also available: the band's unreleased cover of
Flesh For Lulu's
"I Go Crazy" (MP3).
