Thanks to my five year college reunion being this past weekend, my brain is moving very. slowly. today. I had plans to write about how The Woods continues to be the best thing I've heard all year, and how Superpitcher's new mix Today might be my favorite Kompakt release in at least a year, and how Gimme Fiction still isn't clicking with me (though I've tried and tried), but all that will have to wait.

I couldn't sit on the schedule for this year's P.S. 1 Warm Up series though. Between the quality space (a converted school), quality DJ's, and quality refreshments, the series is always a blast. James Turrell's skyspace is pretty cool on its own; add in some Blanche De Brooklyn and, say, a Detroit techno set from Derrick May (which ruled last year), and it becomes a summer highlight. What will be this year's highlights? Among the standouts:

- The Norwegian nu-disco of Lindstrom & Prins Thomas on July 9
- Detroit techno legend Juan Atkins on July 16 (I once met a guy that couldn't stop gushing about Atkins's DJ sets)
- Josh Wink and Stacey Pullen on August 6 (if only because Wink will drop "Higher State of Consciousness" and the crowd will go nuts, as they should)
- A rare US visit from Monolake on August 27 (he was outstanding at Tonic in January)
