So I was already big on Asobi Seksu's live show before, but last night at Rothko they played the best set I've seen yet. I had high expectations, mainly because I finally know their album now, but they only played 3 songs from Asobi Seksu and focused on new material instead. The new songs were more melodic than the album cuts, and noisier too, with some great build-ups and twists - the old songs sounded simple in comparison. (The amount of sound James Hanna gets out of his guitar is awesome.) It seems they're starting to really find their sound. They haven't gone back into the studio yet, but hopefully it'll happen soon. And until then, I'll be looking forward to their next gig.

Download the single "Walk on the Moon" from Asobi Seksu.
